When it comes to reminiscing what we miss most about our lives pre-pandemic, I think it's safe to say that for most of us, it's the opportunity to simply go out for leisure—travel, hang out with friends, and eat in our fave restaurants, to name a few. Because of the ongoing health crisis, staying indoors is the best thing we could all do right now.
But that doesn't mean we can't enjoy the comfort of our go-to products and services at home. Luckily, more and more businesses have been establishing an online presence to serve their consumers better. In fact, some are even doing it for a good cause. Take for example Cordillera Landing On You.
Inspired by the K-drama Crash Landing On You, this online store allows you to order local products from the Cordillera region while helping the livelihood of Filipino farmers at the same time. Teddy Baguilat Jr. of the CLOY (Cordillera Landing On You) team says, "Literally, we're from Cordillera—I'm from Ifugao. And we're bringing in products from Cordillera to land in the city—in Metro Manila." They offer vegetables from Benguet, pasalubong items from Baguio City (yes, strawberries and ube included!), Cordilleran coffee, and face masks locally made by the weavers from Ifugao.
Teddy shares, "We're part of a movement of trying to reshape or restructure our food supply chain, and the way we do business in terms of agriculture. It's an opportunity again for Filipino consumers to discover the quality of our locally produced products." He mentioned that every purchase made not only benefits the Filipino farmers, but in its own way, also helps the Philippine economy amid the pandemic.
