Us Pinoys love Korean dramas with an intense passion, and over the years, local television networks such as GMA-7, ABS-CBN, and TV5 have given us their own takes on our beloved shows. There are even plans for a Descendants of the Sun remake that's set to air this year! Here's a list of five recent remakes you might have missed:
1. Temptation Of Wife (2012)
The OG story/cast: In this revenge thriller, Eun-Jae (Jang Seo-Hee), is nearly killed (and cheated on) by her husband Kyo-Bin (Byeon Woo-Min). Her husband believes that she's dead, and he soon ~meets~ a woman who looks identical to Eun-Jae, but with a completely different personality.
2. Two Wives (2014)
The OG story/cast: Chul-Soo (Kim Ho-Jin) divorces his wife Young-Hee (Kim Ji-Young) to start anew with a single mother named Ji-Sook (Son Tae-Young). But after their split, Chul-Soo gets involved in an accident and wakes up with amnesia, thinking he's still married to Young-Hee, and everyone else can only play along while he recovers.
3. Pure Love (2014)
The OG story/cast: Based on the drama 49 Days, the Korean version tells the story of Ji-Hyun (Nam Gyu-Ri) who has a *perfect* life but gets into a serious accident and ends up in a coma. She is given a second chance at life through the ability to possess another girl named Yi-Kyung (Lee Yo-Won).
4. Baker King (2015)
The OG story/cast: A determined young baker named Tak Gu (Yoon Shi-Yoon) overcomes many trials to reach his goal of becoming the best baker in Korea!
Local cast: Mark Neumann
5. My Love From The Star (2017)
The OG story/cast: Min-Joon (Kim Soo-Hyun) is an alien that landed on Earth in the year 1609, during the Joseon Dynasty. In the present, he finds himself involved in self-absorbed actress Song-Yi's (Jun Ji-Hyun) crazy and unpredictable situations, and realizes that she looks like the young girl he fell in love with many years ago.
