The Oscars of South Korea, aka the 58th Baeksang Arts Awards, just wrapped up and it was one impressive event! A lot of your favorite Korean stars have attended the awarding ceremony and had the most heartwarming interactions, not to mention the emotional speeches.
To give you a brief background, the Baeksang Arts Awards is a distinguished ceremony hosted by TV network JTBC and newspaper Ilgan Sports. It's held every second quarter of the year and for 2022, the event was broadcasted via JTBC and TikTok.
How do they select the best of the best, you ask? According to The Korea Times, there's a "rigorous process" that happens before a winner is chosen. The nominees and nominated shows are presented to a diverse group of critics to allow a broader viewpoint.
